Despite the recent closure of Legend Entertainment by Atari, the Unreal II: XMP community remains strong. During the months leading up to and following the release of XMP, a group XMP beta testers and community members have been working on a pack consisting of top-notch third-party XMP maps and mutators. Now, the time has come to put these maps to the test. On Friday, January 30th 2004, at 9PM GMT (4PM EST), a public BETA version of the Community Bonus Pack will be available to download at the new home of the Community Bonus Pack: http://www.u2xmp.com/cbp/. XMP fans are invited to join the mappers and programmers behind the Community Bonus Pack in IRC in #BeyondUnreal on IRC.EnterTheGame.com and #U2XMP on IRC.ProGamePlayer.com in the time leading up to the release of the BETA. Players and server admins are reminded that this BETA version does not contain all of the content planned for the full version of the Community Bonus Pack, which is due to be released in early February 2004. After the release of the beta version, a forum will be opened to allow any bugs to be reported. The XMP Community Bonus Pack Public BETA will contain the following... MAPS MUTATORSThis mutator gives artifact carriers powers depending on the artifact that they are carrying. For example, the health artifact would regenerate the player's health, the weapon damage artifact would increase the damage that the player's weapon does.
Automatically kicks inactive players to free up player slots on XMP servers.
Gives rangers the ability to deploy mini 'Suicide Raptors', volatile vehicles that detonate after the player hops out, with devastating effects!
Allows server admins to perform all sorts of fun and useful commands which are disabled by default in XMP.
This configurable mutator adds Unreal II music to XMP maps of your choice.
Adds useful tournament features such as 'ready' signals to XMP.

Welcome back! The site's undergone a lot of changes since the last post, so without further ado...
- Name
Change: We're now the 'XMP Community Bonus Pack', rather than
the 'XMP Community Map Pack'. This only seemed logical given the fact
that we're now including several mutators in the pack. Check our new
mutators page for details!
- More Maps: We're now looking at 7-8 maps in the Community
Bonus Pack as opposed to the 4-5 that were originally planned. Hooray!
You can find shots of some of the maps, new and old, over on the maps
page.
- Release Schedule: As a result of mutators and extra
maps being included in the pack, the current target release period is
now set at late January or early February 2004. Sorry to everyone everyone
who was expecting a Christmas release, however this just wasn't feasable
given the huge amount of content that we've got planned!
- CBP Trailer: We released a kick-ass 60MB video trailer
of our Community Bonus Pack over the holidays. Check it out over on the
downloads
page.
- Eye Candy: Check our maps page,
you'll find four new screenshots featuring XMP-CBP-Hell, XMP-CBP-Emerald and XMP-CBP-Sulphur,
together with the two previously released shots of Apophis and Xaemia.
If you're feeling lazy, use the links below to view the new pictures
in glorious 1280x1024 resolution.
Keep watching the site, we'll have more soon!

Welcome
to the official website for the Unreal II XMP Community Bonus Pack, now open
to the public!
The Unreal 2 XMP -
Community Bonus Pack was started during the beta test for XMP. A few of the testers
got together and started tossing out ideas for a bonus pack with user created
maps, mutators and mods, and as a result, the CBP was created. The team is
hoping
to
continue
to put
out bonus packs in the future hoping to make the game even more of a great experience,
and add in another layer to the community. Our main focus is to please the community
and have fun while doing it.
Our maps page includes two shiny new screenshots of Apophis by
Alex 'RaptoR' Dobie, and Xaemia by Jake 'Reeps' Speer, so go
take a look!
